Fresh 48 | documenting the birth journey
COVID-19 has kept me from being able to be there for one of my families hoping for a birth session this past week. I understand and respect the hospital’s guidelines during this time, I’m just sad I can’t be there to capture their little one’s first appearance into this world. I will see them soon and we will photograph them as a family in their home with their new baby girl.
This gallery is from the last “Fresh 48” session I photographed. A Fresh 48 session is different from an actual “birth session” it takes place within the first 48 hours after baby is born (usually the next day) either at the hospital or at a home birth. This 1-2 hour session takes place between the hours of 10am and 2pm. Parents may choose to keep this time intimate with just baby or invite family & friends to come visit for the first time while having a few precious pictures taken.
Photographs during this time are a special reminder of one of the most cherished moments of your life.
